Hello, I'm Sam! Nana Jen, my maternal grandmother, started Tully's Cakes back in 1999 after running a restaurant, a deli, a catering business and a fish and chip shop. Soon people from Hamilton knew to come knocking on Jen's door for the cake or the pudding that was going to complete their Christmas feast. After 22 years making cakes and puddings (and many more in the workforce), Jen decided to put down the spatula and take some much deserved R&R. For me it was a no brainer to keep the business in the family and combine my love of Christmas and my love of baking by taking on Tully's Cakes.
We try to source as much as possible from Australian growers and look for organic, palm oil free fruit in both our cakes and puddings and use only free range eggs. All our cakes and puddings are made in small batches right here in my kitchen in Ballarat.
Sustainability matters to us so that's why we're working really hard to try and provide packaging that's either reusable, recyclable or compostable. Where possible we use post consumer recycled paper and stickers.
Our kitchen runs off solar panels and when the sun isn't shining we purchase our energy with a green energy provider and offset our gas.
